Quote of the Month:

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
--Mark Twain

Client of the Month: Sun Microsystems, Software Organization

In honor of our 16 years of continuous service to this high-integrity technology leader, our inaugural issue highlights our long-term relationship with Sun Microsystems.

Founded within months of each other more than 2 decades ago, our two companies have invented, reinvented, and supported each other through boom times and economic downturns.

Obviously, neither Sun nor M3iworks were "on the web" back in our early 1988 days--email was a novel concept back then! Sun was making yet-unheard-of productivity gains with revolutionary tools and applications to help employees more quickly, easily, and cost-effectively do their jobs. Sun Tech Pubs had its hands full writing manuals for all the products and services Sun was producing to serve the client-server market at that time, so documenting how to use all the new internal productivity tools was an unreasonable charter.

Sun first contracted with M3iworks in 1988 to document an enterprise-wide conversion from Cullinet to a Sun-developed sales and customer-relationship-management tool. That initial success launched the ongoing 16-year relationship we've shared, and today a 12-person team dedicates its time, talent, and expertise to help support Sun's internal web initiatives, and takes great pride in extending that support to countless sections of www.sun.com.

In particular this month, we're honored to highlight Sean Browne, Director Web Publishing, .SUN User Experience. As Sean explains our relationship,

"M3iworks continues to make excellent contributions in the ongoing support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of all Sun's web properties."

We have thoroughly enjoyed our multi-year, mutually beneficial relationship with this web visionary and his team of customer-focused advocates.
