FREE ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Section 508 Website Compliance Assessment

M3iworks has designed ADA compliant Websites since 2000 and we continue to ensure that the sites we deliver are ADA compliant. Please contact us for a free compliance assessment.

There are more than 54 million Americans with disabilities in the US--a number that roughly equates to the combined population of California and Texas. Worldwide, there are 550 million disabled persons. Yet several studies show that most websites fail to meet the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards for web accessibility. In plain English, this means:

millions of people who are visually or hearing-impaired
cannot successfully access or navigate non-compliant websites
.

Consider these statistics:

  • There are more than 54 million Americans with a disability--roughly equivalent to the entire population of the states of California and Texas combined! There are more than 550 million disabled persons worldwide.
  • About 20.3 million families, or nearly 1/3 of all families in the United States, have at least one family member with a disability.
  • Approximately 8 million people with disabilities are online.
  • 49% of disabled persons said the Internet changed their lives , compared to 27% of the non-disabled population.
  • People with disabilities influence more than $770 billion of the $3 trillion in annual consumer spending in the United States.
  • As the U.S. population ages, the number of people with disabilities will rise dramatically.
  • The Internet appears to be a powerful counterweight to a social isolation: 48 percent of people with disabilities say the Internet has significantly improved their lives, compared with 27 percent of people without disabilities.

Beyond making your site accessible because it’s the right thing to do, there is also a business case for making your Web sites and applications accessible to disabled persons. Accessibility:

  • Reduces your risk of lawsuits,
  • Allows you to perform transactions with the government,
  • Attracts new users,
  • Prepares for new technologies,
  • Enables foreign language translation, and also
  • Stimulates a positive public image.

M3iworks realized long ago the importance and necessity of compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines mandated by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

As web design and development professionals, we must consider all possible accessibility issues and ensure that our designs--both static and dynamic--comply with the standards. By meeting the priority 1, 2 , and 3 guidelines in ALL situations, we can benefit all applicable disability groups and the web community as a whole.

From the Planning phase through deployment, we consider and enable accessibility, including multi-platform/browser testing of all site elements and functions.
